Capital Veterinary Hospital is one of the rare practices in ACT which offer Echocardiography. Echocardiography for pets is very similar to Echocardiography in humans. This procedure allows veterinarians to get a good picture of the valve function of the heart, and is often a second test after an Electrocardiogram (ECG).

If any cardiac abnormalities are noted during general examination, we may recommend an Echocardiography, an ultrasound of the heart, in order to visualize the heart chambers and muscles to make a diagnosis. Many of the pets with heart disease can live longer if the diagnosis and treatment started at early stage of the disease.
