Capital Veterinary Hospital is a family owned and operated business. Therefore, we guarantee you get to see the same vet every time you visit our hospital.

Here at Capital Veterinary Hospital, we pride ourselves on our ability to perform high skill surgical procedures. We offer soft tissue surgeries including advanced skin reconstructive procedures, lump removals, splenectomy, lung and liver lobectomies, most eye surgeries, all ear surgeries, all gastrointestinal tract surgeries, all urinary tract surgeries, and pericardium surgeries. We offer vast range of orthopaedic surgeries. At Capital Veterinary Hospital we perform all fracture repairs, Total Hip Replacement (THR), cruciate surgery (ACL surgery) , patella luxation (kneecap luxation) surgery, limb deformities, and toe/limb amputations.  We are able to perform cruciate (ACL) repair in multiple different techniques, including TPLO and TTA. Capital Veterinary Hospital is the only general practice in Canberra that performs THR. In addition, Capital Veterinary Hospital is one of the rare practices that offers echocardiography.

Capital Veterinary Hospital is an accredited and Internationally-recognised Gold Cat Friendly hospital. We know your concerns about your cats when visiting a vet hospital. Therefore, Capital Veterinary Hospital has separate entry door, waiting area, consult room, and treatment area for cats and dogs. We aim to eliminate any contact between dogs and cats during their visit in our hospital.

We understand how busy you are, which is why we are open long hours from 7am-7pm weekdays and 7am-1pm weekends for your convenience.

If your pet is suffering from an emergency, we offer veterinary emergency services. Capital Veterinary Emergency contact number is 6282 5522. Our emergency services are available for our existing clients every night from 7 pm-7 am – weekdays, weekends and public holidays.

With many dedicated car parks at the rear of our building, plus ample free public car parks at front, you won’t need to walk more than 5 meters to reach the entry of our building.

At Capital Veterinary Hospital, your pet is more than just an animal; we care for your pet as our own, and we strive to provide compassionate and personalised care for every pet we see.
